my 7 week old daughter is always hungry she can take 8 oz every 4-5 hours. But over the last 2 day she has started wanting more than 8 oz when she has her 6 oclock bottle. As i breast feed in the day i dont know what she gets, but she mostly satisfied with what she gets. But at least once a day she has a top up of the bottle usually bout 3oz! When she has bottles at night they have sma gold and half sma hungrier baby milk i have tried to give her only hungrier milk but it makes her sicky and constipates her! My first daughter was hungry but was satisfied with 8oz every 4 hours with the half normal milk and half hungrier milk! And is now 3 nd half and eats just as much now! lol! How can i satisfy her so she is full up and not contsipated at the same time? And also should i be worried?

In my own experience of having 2 big greedy babies, I found they they will only take as much as they need, my 1st was on 7 ounces every 3 1/2 hours by 7 weeks and slept thru the night (10/12 hrs) from then on. Also maybe she isnt getting enough of the breastmilk (as you said you cant really tell) or maybe she's more thirsty than hungry and might need a bit of boiled water in between a feed especially if she's getting constipated a lot? Hope this helps.

my 7 week old is eating 8 oz every 4-6 hours depending on how sleepy she is.. the doc we went to told me i was over feeding her, but she really wont just take 5oz like the doc suggested (we just switched docs) and the new one said if shes eating, and not throwing up or getting constipated then let her eat! our dd is on soy formula though so if you really are worried maybe give your doctor a call otherwise it just sounds like shes growing!
