Is my 4-year-old too young for the Wii game system?

My 3 yr old loves our Wii, especially golf, but she loves to play with her older brother and sister with tennis and bowling. I think its a lot better than just sitting watching TV or using computer or other video games, at least she is up and moving around.

Nope! I have taught many children in my home day care how to bowl, play tennis, and golf (we did not box) as well as how to play Marioparty 8 and Mario kart.
4 is also old enough for the Wii Fit games and I am sure there are other age appropriate games, my son is only 22 months old. We've had a Wii since they first came out because my husband wanted one and I am taking advantage of the fitness programs and such that go with it.
Oh and the kids were always supervised when playing, and generally I was playing too.
It was sad when they started beating me at bowling.
Now you can decide for your own child but here for day care we had a Wii afternoon once a week and it was our rainy day fall back instead of watching a movie after playing games and reading stories and such.
For all the time, likely no more then an hour to an hour and a half a day between Wii and tv time in my opinion, for the age of four (when school is in, you can tweak that here or there on holidays and summer break).

In my opinion yes! However I'm the type of Mother that will allow very little time for video games. I don't plan to introduce video games to our son who is 20 months until he is much older. It's a good thing our son enjoys the outdoors since that's where we spend most of our time. :) I think he would live outside if we let him!

Very true! We are definitely going to purchase this for the family! Thanks so much!

I wouldn't buy one specifically FOR her... but if there is more family that can enjoy it, I would buy it for the family, letting her have turns and her own learning games too.
Buying a $150/$200 game for a 4 year old is a bit pricey... Keep in mind that four year olds are still flushing Mommie's cellphone down the toilet.
I would be afraid to give a 4 year old a $200.00 Wii... My fear is he's going to stir his chocolate milk with it....
Only you know your child well enough to make this decision... is she mature enough to respect 200 bucks?
