Why not just put some of their snack on their plate. With my 19month old her plate has is in three sections. one for the main course, the other for a vegetable and the last sometimes its fruit or sometimes its a little snack it could also be her desert like a couple of little cookies. There is also nothing wrong with fixing a meal for just the child aslong as the child eats .Everyone has their own way of doing things.

Tell them they can have the snack after they eat their dinner. They need to get the nutrition before the goodies. Serve up small portions so they won't feel overwhelmed by the food. Eat together as a family and then after everything is eaten (seconds if they want) THEN give the snack. We keep the snack on the table with the meal as motivation but never in their reach until they are done eating.

ABSOLUTELY NOT. Table manners and how meal times work , needs to be taught by yourself & you should be consistent.
They only behave that way because you allow them to. If they don't want to eat because you haven't shown the snack , they they don't eat. At some point they'll realise that I'm going to stay hungry if I do this.
I don't "force" them to finish , I dish up in very small amounts , enough for them to finish everything. They know they have to finish the veggies , when the plate is clean , they may have 2nds of whatever they want.

Well some days they are good n don't need the snack n there's other days that dat's they only way they can sit at the table n eat all their food. I knew i would get such answers thanks a bunch!

i wouldn't make a habit of it. I usually give my son some cheerios or goldfish a little prior to our meals that way he is ready to sit and eat with us. But if it is the only way then u do what u need to do in order to get them to eat.

That seems a little extreme. I can say that I won't do that, but if it's the ONLY way, then you do what you have to.
