Yes, there is. My understanding of the term is that a "false miscarriage" is called such because there is no embryo that has been miscarried. What happens is that an egg implants itself, but it has not been fertilized. You then "miscarry" the egg. The "miscarriage" is similar to a regular miscarriage, but typically happens very, very early because there's no embryo that increases hormones, etc. 



I just went through one. If that is what you are going through, I feel for you.
