Keeping a child out of trouble & danger

My husband, daughter, son and I live in a small trailer. My daughter is 3 years old and she is a snoop 100%. She also has severe food allergies. I work part-time so my husband is left to deal with the children in the morning. My daughter wakes up and is quietly getting into the cupboards, and various other things. It is causing some nervousness with my husband and I. Were at a loss for what we're supposed to do to stop her from getting into things in the morning. Now taking into consideration we live in a small trailer, my husband or myself do not hear her when she gets up in the morning, that's how quiet she is... We had a gate up for a while, but she would climb over it or simply take it down. We have tried just leaving some cereal and juice out thinking maybe she would stay out of things if she was not starved, that did not work. The most recent thought was locking her bedroom door, but that seems a little inhumane and abusive. So, I need some help. What should I do to prevent her from snooping...

Buy some simple cupboard locks and stick them to the doors to give you peace of mind. Most cupboards are lockable and these locks can be bought at any hardware store or even off the internet. Other than that then fit a stair gate to her bedroom door so that she can see out but is contained to the room.

maybe put a bell on her door so when she opens it it rings. They make magnetic cupboard locks that I really want to get since my 2 year old figured out how to open the child proof ones we have. Babies-r-us sells them.

Can you put those safety locks on the cupboards? Or make sure you're up before she is so that you can keep a close eye on her? Good luck!
