Does anyone have some suggestions as to how I can keep a sun hat on my 17 mo? I have a hat with a chin strap, but she almost chokes herself trying to pull it off!

Our little guy isn't a fan of hats either...he is kind of extremely blonde and doesn't really have a lot of hair at the current time (he is almost 16 months)...due to his lack of hair we just make sure he has sunscreen on his head. We always start out with the sunhat, but it really doesn't tend to last long. I think perhaps next summer may be a little bit more easy as then our little ones will be old enough to have a conversation with.

Our son did that for months! Make sure she has sunscreen on but keep perservering with the hat. Try distracting her with something and then gently place it on her head - at first without the strap round her chin. She just needs to get used to the weight on her head. Also wear a hat yourself and show her that you are both wearing hats. Sooner or later she will not notice it on her head. Our son now asks to wear one and has a spazz if we say no no its raining...!
