Lazy boy n potty training

My little boy is two now. He always threw a fit if wet and wanted to sit on the potty, but for the last six months he hasn't cared if wet, acts like he wants to sit on the potty, but when the lid is lifted he runs away...Yet he keeps taking his diaper off and trying to put on underwear! I don't get it! I don't know what to do to convince him it's okay to use the big boy potty! Any tips?

Sadly i think little boys (from what i've heard) are generally later with potty training, i don't think he's lazy at all, he's just curious about it all - BUT not ready to use the potty. Try nappy pants, they're very much like jocks but they're a nappy at the same time, i found them VERY useful!

Try not to force the issue, he'll go when he's ready, just make sure you help him to realise the potty with it's lid up isn't a bad thing & be ready with treats & praises when the time does come.

My daughter wasn't interested in sitting on the potty until 2, she was happy to use it & pretty well potty trained by 2 1/2 - you should be glad your son will sit on it at 2, i think 3 is more the 'norm' age for potty training so relax a little & he'll go when he knows he's ready!

Good luck!

Ive got 3 teenagers and a 2yr old (twin 16yr olds and a 15yr old). My baby is not even interested in the potty yet (so more power to you!!). But I remember when my teens went through potty training I had them all fired up on being " BIG" kids and using the potty etc, which worked for a while and then they saw an ad on TV for Duck toilet cleaner! Which showed these talking germs hanging on the toilet!! Well that was it, they refused to use the toilet and I had to start all over again! Sometimes it is the smallest things that will put them off but i think just let them find their own way and try not to stress too much over it and they will get there!
