Leaving kids over night

How often do you leave your kids over night with someone? I have a hard time doing it.

Extreme comment prior to mine, but hey!.....I think is good to leave your kids with grand ma or aunties once in a while. I have a 2 year old daughter and i leave her to my mother on some weekends and my daughter loves spending time with her grandma. She gets tired of being with me all the time.. and like someone said earlier is a win - win situation because you get to have a break, the grandparents enjoy them and your baby gets to see others face.

I've left my kids once with the in-laws and will not be doing it again any time soon. I've left them with my husband before and felt lost even then - sad, I know.

I wish I was brave enough to leave my kids with someone overnight...and knew someone brave enough to take them! The longest brake I get (other than work) is 3 hours of Christmas shopping! I suppose with summer here Aaron will want to stay with a friend, but I don't know how he/I will handle that. I would rather host the sleepover at my place honestly.

I will only leave my daughter overnight every couple months. If we do out go out as a couple we usually are home by 11. I usually limit myself to one night a month and daddy stays home with her or vis versa. I don't like to leave her with anyone else because i feel like its my responsablity not theirs and personaly i rather stay home knowing she is safe at home with me.

I left my son 1x overnight with my mom because my husband went to Vermont for a weekend. I was miserable and will probably never do it again until he is at 5yrs old. At the time he was 13 months old. He was fine my mom said but I cried for hours. I told my husband the next time we go away for any reason we will have to have enough money to take my sister or mom with us.

NEVER - it is very traumatic for them.
Some of my kids are older now and told me what it did to them ...

My son is four and has been staying with my husband's parents overnight since he was just shy of a year old. He LOVES it. Now he spends up to a week with them at a time. Its a win-win situation. We get LOTS of quality time with little sister who rarely get alone time with mommy and daddy, we get a lighter work load for a week and grandson and grandparents get LOTS of quality time together. I can highly recommend it! : )

my son will be 5 in Spetember and has never been left over night and has never been with a babysitter that wasn't family - but not really of my choice. lol. till he was 2.5, there was no one around to keep him over night save aunts and uncles and never would have asked as they all had kids who were a few years older and such. then he and I moved in with my parents so the only people who would watch him overnight lived in the same house as us so no real break there. lol.

if you are having problems leaving your littles ones...no worries, there's no rush for it. but do make sure you get some time away - the kind where they are at least in bed before you come home!

My 19 month old stays with her grandma and papa overnight about once every two weeks. My mother wants to have a close relationship with her grandkids and they live very close to us. she started doing overnights at about 5 months old and I was very nervous at first just to have her away from me, i know that my mom knows what shes doing, but I just missed my baby! I still call at least twice when shes at her grandmas just to see what shes doing!

i began leaving my son overnight with my mother when he was about four months old...he only goes if she asks because i don't like asking anyone to keep him but he goes about once every two months. in fact i just got home from picking him up from his sleep over last night. he's 20 months now and LOVES it. i say "you want to have a sleepover at grammy's?" and he claps and runs to get his blankey and shoes. being home with me all day everyday (i work from home) he's tired of me after a while and he looks forward to seeing someone different.
