My Almost 3yr old son woke up with bruisies on both of his ears after taking a nap. The bruisies were NOT there before. We took him to the ER, because when i say bruisies on both his ears i mean both of them were purpple, blue and black. It's not normal for a bruies like that to appear out of nowhere. The doctors tell they need to bo some blod tests to check his plaitleit count. (to check for auto immune dissorders ITT ITP ect... and lukimea was a worry as well. The tests came back completly normal thank god! But we do not have a reason as to why they got that way. Allong with all the conditions they thought he may have had had other symptoms of fatiuge, vommiting blood in urin or stool easy brusing of intier boby ect, ect... My child is acting perfictly fine, full of energy, an appitite out of this world and he takes his daily afternoon nap and is in bed by 8, 8:30 everynight. He is small for his age and in the lower percentile in hight, weight, and head curcumfrence, but not behind in developmental skills nor has he ever been. Any way back to the doctor, he told me that my son had to of had gotten something stuck on his head or hit his ears. Their is nothing he could have gotten stuck on his head and or if he had gottin something stuck or hit his ears with or on tsomething we deffinenlty would have know. Because for something to cause the sever bruising on his ears it would of had to of been extreem pressure or extrem force. The doctor said that they had never seen anything like this before. If any of you moms have a similar story or any advice it is greatly welcomed and appericiated. It's scary for something to happen to your child that is far from normal and have no answers or reasons why.

It sounds like your doctors have covered everything. My first thought was maybe he had taken a solid toy to bed and slept on it rolling over in the night and so causing brusing to both sides of his head. Another reason for brusing is low iron count. Anemia is quite common because lots of children do not get enough from there normal diet. Iron is found in red meat and dark leafy vegetables. If the doctors are not concerned then don't worry about it put it behind you and move on.
