My son was sick last week. We took him to the hospital on base. They did CT scan, X-rays, Lumbar puncture, the whole nine yards. Everthing came back fine. But he is still having these horrible headaches. He starts by holding his head and then he starts crying and then he throws up. The doctors didn't seem to be to concerned. Should i be? We asked for referrals to Childrens and we got nowhere.

Thank you. Unfortunately we have Tricare due to my husband being in the army. We have to get a referral from the base hosp. to go to Childrens or our insurance wont pay for it. And they are not capable of dealing with young children. They even said that if he needed admitted that they would transfer him to chldrens. We just have to wait and see.

I would continue trying for a second opinion. If it were my son I would personally call the doctor's office every time he had a migraine and nag them to death until I got my referral. I would also be on the phone with insurance complaining as well. It's very good news that the tests all came back fine, but you still want answers and need a plan for managing his migraines. I will keep you in my thoughts and pray for the best.
