When my oldest was a toddler he had the same probem. We put water in a spray bottle. The kind that you would use to mist plants. At night when I did his bedtime I would take the bottle and spry the "Monster Spray" in all the dark areas that he said he was afaid of. I made up a cute story to tell him the frist night for his bed time story and it worked like a charm. Good luck.

Here's a question for you, is it really that he's scared of something in his room, or is it, maybe he's scared he;ll be missing something going on outside his room if you aren't with him? My sone went through a phase where he wouldn't go to sleep, because he was afraid we would leave him. We adjusted his bed time to be a little later so he would be more tired, and then more willing to go to sleep when the time came.

good luck
