My 13 mth old has recently started walking. He will no longer sleep through the night. He is waking every 3-4 hours. Any advice?

Yes, just like Jana, a couple weeks after switching to real milk, my 13 month old (who used to be an excellent sleeper) would wake up crying...sometimes in pain.  Once I realized he was passing a lot of gas, I made the connection that it was probably the milk.  He seems to be sleeping through the night again now that we're on to something different.  Good luck!

My first thought was...does he need to eat a little more now that he is walking?  My second thought was, is he eating anything that is making him wake up.  My daughter started waking up in the middle of the night once she was fully on cow's milk.  She woke up in pain and screaming from gas.  Turned out that she is lactose intolerant.  Once we got that taken care of she was back to sleeping through the night.

So I don't know if he is just waking up or if he is waking up because he is in pain, but if it is because of pain, I would start looking at foods that he eats.  Good luck.

My best advice is much easier said then done. My son did this for a little bit around the same age. I chose to ignore the "I'm awake come get me cries." For the most part he learned to fall back asleep. There were times I would go in and rock him. I never let him cry for more then 15 minutes because I figured Im not sleeping listening to him cry so I might as well go help him back to sleep...but try it. Try to ignore him for a while and see if he will go back to sleep. If it's a matter of he's not tired try to alter his nap time so it's not late afternoon...hope this helps.
