I recommend reading "Child of Mine" by Ellen Sattyr. I have followed her advice with my daughter for the past few months. The basic idea is that you as the parent can control over what they are offered to eat, where they eat, and when they eat. They as the child are in control of how much or wether they eat.

I offer my daughter 3 meals and 2 snacks each day. I try to make sure each time she eats I offer her something I know she likes at least a little along with things she doesn't like as much. She eats as much or little as she wants. I do NOT let her graze in between those set times, nor will I make her something else. She will (and does) eat and eat a variety of things if she is hungry.

Also, keep in mind that children often need to see a food 15+ times before they will even try it...and even more times of trying it before they learn if they really like it or not. Be patient and keep at it!

I'm in the same boat with my daughter who is 22 Months! I'm lucky if she tries something new. I talked to her doctor and he says to give her Pedisure drinks once a day and to make sure she takes a vitamin (I use the liquid) The drinks are expensive but she needs nutrients somehow! If you make progress please let me know!!!
