Recently my son has refused to eat any type of meat or pasta except chicken nuggets. He'll gobble down yogurt, & fruit but will not eat anything else but chicken nuggets. Has anyone else experienced this & if so is it just a phase he's going through? Thank you!!

The way I got through this stage, (though he has entered it again :( ) I would say that he could have a little bit of what he wanted, but he had to have 3 mouthfuls of the food we were eating first. Then I give him a bite or two of what he wanted then rinse and repeat :)

My niece's twins, who are almost 4, went through that too. It gets better, trust me. They will also go through a rice, beans, etc... stage. It's the 'food for the moment' stages of toddlerhood...lol.

I just read somewhere that if you have a picky eater you continue to offer his "favorites" with other foods. Slowly you start decreasing the amount of "favorites" and more of the other foods. Hopefully this helps alittle.....good luck and remember he won't always be eating chicken nuggets.

Oh my..... thank you so much Moms!! My son's father's mother is on my case about not feeding him proper foods & its just so heartbreaking to be accussed as a unfit mother. {his father is not in his life so she tries to run mine & JTs life} I was hoping it was just a phase he was going through. Up until a few months ago it was eat everything in site, but has now tappered off to yogurt, fruits & chicken nuggets. I'm thankful I'm not losing my mind. I will put all of your advise to good use & keep you updated on his progress. Thank you all again!!

My son is also going through this phase!! For a while he LOVED fries from McDonald's then he switched to chicken nuggets. Now he eats chicken nuggets almost every day for lunch. He also loves to eat fruit too. We try giving him pork chops or steak but he'll only eat it if we tell him that it's chicken!!

This is sooo funny because my 2 year old is almost the exact way!! I think it was around the same age as your son when he started this passion for chicken nuggets. And his favorite thing besides that is yogurt and fruit!! I fought with him a lot on it and tried a few things. I started listening to moms who told me to put food in front of him and if he doesn't eat it, continue giving him the same thing until he eats it. That just broke my heart!!! I didn't stop giving him the option to eat other foods and I kept offering them to him. Soon, he started eating some pasta and actually started to love grilled chicken!! In my opinion, I think little kids are fine having favorite/only foods. Your son is eating fruit, which is very important. As long as he is healthy, I wouldn't stress it too much. But keep offering him different foods and maybe he will come around on his own.

i havent gone throught this myself with my little boy, but my brother has allway gone throught things simler to this and he is aged 9 now. some day he wouldnt eat and as he got older he would eat hardly anythink he would rather sweets and sometime just chease. my mum got worried and took him to the doctors, and they told her to give him what he wanted and encourage him to eat otther things.

i dont think you should worrie about this at the moment. i would give him what he like that way he is still eating food and he is getting his fruit. so let him do it just encourage and offer other foods. it most likly a phase as he likes eating them im sure he will eat other things and might even go throught the phase with other foods. but i would not put lots of pressure on him, just offer diffrent bits throught the day. i dont think u should tell him he cant have it as he still getting food that way.
