My 2 yr old constantly has his thumb in his mouth and it is getting really dry and cracked. Any suggestions?

I think what you are looking for is to help with the cracking and dryness of his thumb? If so try using lanolin. (The stuff for your nipples when you breastfeed) I used it for my son all the time when he was smaller. It really helps with the drynes and it's safe for them to get in their mouth.

you can also try vinegar or lemon juice so he doesn't suck it and put lotion on it when gets out of the tub and put a band-aid on it. I would try those two first and then try the hot sauce.....Good luck!!

my sister had this problem with her 3 year old....she tried putting hot sauce on her thumb, so it would burn her mouth.......then she put a bandaid on it, it seemed to work-she doesnt suck her thumb anymore!
