There is THUM a nail laquer with a sting, but not like hot pepper. or get something bitter like aloe vera. it may work depending onn age. be consistent though. never mind them not eating. feed them. they will eat when hungry.also cechk ur peadiatrician to see if it is any sign of anxiety. it is not normal.

I don't know, but if you figure it out, please let me know. My husband and my brother who is here quite frequently bite their nails, and my little monkey does what she see's.. It's become a habbit now and I don't know how to stop it. I tried pretty nail polish.. fingers and toes just like Mommy's, and told her that if she put her fingers in her mouth it would go away.. Sure enough, it worked. For about half a day. She was sad when the nail polish was gone, but it didn't stop her, and I don't want to put anymore on her because I don't want her eating it. I didn't even know that toddlers bite their nails until she started.

Hi, I am still looking for an answer. My little girl is now nearly four and still bites her nails. I hope too stop it before it became a habit but no luck. I find she does it when she is tired or out of her depth (like meeting new people). I find I try and give her more support as she is very sensitive. I thought about the stop bite paint but didn't like the idea as I have heard of kids getting used to it. Also at her age she uses her fingers alot to eat etc so would be difficult. At the moment I am working on the positive and trying to make them look pretty with nail polish etc Maybe that will work!! Good luck.
