Have you ever seen the toy Fridge Phonics by Leap Frog? My daughter got it for her first birthday, and played with it constantly. It's useful for letter recognition and even learning the sounds. My daughter is just a little over 2 and knows all of her letters and most of the sounds already. I would definitely suggest buying it - I think it's about $20.

I purchased a DVD called Meet The Letters from www.preschoolprep.com. My two year old learned her ABC's in just two weeks.

What I did with my son is I did 3 letters at a time and when he could say them with no help at all he received a m&m I understand this is a super sweet treat but three at one sitting I didn't mind. Over two months working with him he could identify them all and put them in the correct order. Hope this helps
