If she falls asleep before we go to bed we can get her to stay in bed at least half the night/occasionally all night... but if we go to bed and she is still awake - she is in our bed all night...

at 4 yrs old she should b in bed b4 u guys anyway, u need to keep her active all day and feed and shower her and put her to bed by 8.30, who ever is the control factor in the house should put her to bed. My 4 yr old has only just started sleeping in his own bed and he stays there now, to start off with id feed and shower him and put him to bed at 8.30pm with his huggy bear and leave his door open and nite lite on and tell him to go sleep, when he fell asleep we went to bed. U may the first week u may have to get up during nite 4 her but tuck her back in bed and tell her to go back to sleep and give her kiss then walk out and go back to bed, its a long process at first but they eventually learn

By 4 she should be old enough for you to tell her she needs to stay in her own bed, and she will do it. But if this isn't the case, you might have to spend a few sleepless nights hauling her back to her bed everytime she crawls into yours. I would make sure she has a night light so she isn't scared, and maybe read her a book or something in her bed to calm her down a bit. If this doesn't work either, try sitting on her bedroom floor until she falls asleep. But don't talk to her, just silently sit in there. This way she will know she is safe. After a few days or a week, move out into the hallway where she can still see you but you are further away. Hope one of these methods works!! Good luck.
