My 4yr old is suddenly waking up at all hours of the night. I was told that melatonin might help her but I'm afraid to give her any medication for sleep. Does anyone know of safe methods to help induce sleep for a toddler?

Melatonin is an over the counter supplement, our body makes it naturally, but I'm like you I wouldn't want to give my child a pill for sleep at age 4. Cat Nip tea is safe for infants so it certainly must be safe for 4 year olds. You steep the tea just like you would any other tea and have her drink some. I used it for my infant who was battling reflux and terrible gas as a newborn, it calms the GI tract and helps induce sleep. You can get the cat nip at the pharmacy, just ask the pharmacist, no prescription needed.
