My child has a terrible cold. What can I do?

My daughter has a terrible cold.This is her first time having a terrible cold. She can hardily breath. I have tried almost everything. She doesn't sleep at night. I need help. Can someone please help me.

Well i can tell you what i use to do. Apply vicks on her chest and back. Heat a pan on the stove till its HOT, then take a napkin and smear it on pan. the napkin will be warm now, put it on her back and chest for a while.This will clear the congestion and kind of soothes.

put vicks vapor rub on the bottom of her feet, then put socks on her, i did this for 3 days on my 9 month old and the cold was gone..it also works on adults.

I've used a cool mist humidifier sometimes. If my daughter has a fever, it helps, plus it's great to loosen their phlegm. Lots of fluids too
