My Daughter is 18months, any suggestions on potty training?

2 Lora Jensen's program really works! She suggests you wait until 22 months, not a day sooner! At 23 months, my Beth was trained in 3 days. She's 2 years 3 months now...and.. oh, there she goes... running to the potty all by herself, going poopie... I gotta go help her wipe!

Yeah I agree - dont rush, buy a potty and let her get used to having it around and if she wants to sit on it then let her. I potty trained a boy and I think boys are a lot harder. Takes looking at it practically around 2 months. If it doesnt work the 1st time leave a few weeks and then try again. I found wandering around with no pants on in a warm environment helped and saved a lot of accidents, especially in the early days. Good Luck :)

What worked best for me is taking my daughter to the bathroom at the same time everyday. its like a schdule for sleeping but its potty this time! you really have to stick to it. even if they dont go, also put them in panties and give little snacks for trying it modevates them more. make it fun! Little girls love the fact of being like there mom so put panties on her and take her to the potty everytime you go as well and when daddy goes and she will pick up on it in about 2weeks to a month. I hope that helps a little.

My daughter is 19 months. She's been very interested in the potty and just being in the bathroom in general. We bought her her own potty last month, and she's been really interested in it lately. We let her sit on it whenever she wants, but we never force her to sit on it or punish her if she gets off of it. I'd say buy her her own little potty, and let her explore it herself. If she's interested in it, awesome! If not, just set it aside and try again in a little while.

My daughter started using the potty at 17 months. Granted, she's not fully potty trained, but she is definately interested and has used the potty for both #1 and #2 on several occasions. We bought a new "Contoured Cushie Step Up Potty" seat --It's the kind that looks like a step ladder. She LOVES climbing, so this became a really fun thing to do. We make a pretty big deal out of going potty in our house. Everyone --including Mommy, Daddy, Grandparents, and even guests-- receive a standing ovation after a trip to our bathroom. Kinda crazy, but she likes it! :) In the beginning, she was using the potty up to 6 times a day, but that has slacked off a bit. I'm not worried though, because she knows what to do. I don't want her to feel like it is a punishment. If we miss a day or two, no problem. We've still got plenty of time to practice.

Oh -- she has already learned how to put off bedtime by a few minutes...We like to wind down and rock-a-bye before bed...It never fails, she looks up at me with her gorgeous baby blues and says, "potty??". LOL, we head off to the bathroom no matter what time it is. If she's willing to try, so am I. Most of the time she's just stalling. :)

Good luck and have fun!
