my son is curretly going through this, a few things ive have found helped - first dont make a big deal out of it i think if they are really hungry they will eat its just a control thing and a faze. make sure afternoon snack isnt close to dinner time. eating at the big table with you, tomato sauce to dip veges ect into. also my man loves mashed potatoes so ive been mixing his veges and meat into the mashed potatoes and hes started to eat all of it! so try being sneeky find something you know she will eat and mix it with somthing you want her to eat.

Our daughter (23 months) does the same thing most nights. I don't stress over it though because she eats pretty well at breakfast and lunch.

I agree with Ashley. She'll eat when she's hungry. My son (2) does the same thing. So many times, instead of feeding him dinner when I get home at 5:30, I let him run around and play for a while and hold off on dinner until 6:30. Then he seems to do better. I also hold off on any drinks for him until he's started eating the food on his plate.

I would cut out an afternoon snack if there is one. Limit her drinks to water only? She could be filling up on juice or milk before diner. You can also make sure that your daughter is super busy running around playing before dinner, burning all that energy will make her hungrier for diner.

Our son did this for a while. I found that by only giving him something small for afternoon tea or having it earlier, he would be hungry enough by dinner time to eat. Sometimes he doesnt want any afternoon tea which is fine by us as he will then eat most of his dinner.

I have that problem with my 2 1/2 year old too. She's really picky and will only eat certain things. Sometimes she wont eat at all...but i guess i do wait, and if shes hungry she'll eat

well i would go old school on this one and say she will eat when she gets hungry enough. but the other thing is to check your feeding schedule what time are the other meals? is she having a snack to close to dinner? does she drink all of her milk and is it with dinner or before when she gets it. what meal does she eat the most at. i would not make her something special if she doesn't like what your having because that will cause a whole new issue. all in all i wouldn't be too worried unless she start losing weight. and remember toddlers really don't need a lot of food to keep them going.
