I may be the wrong person to ask, as my son is 30 months, and he still uses his pacifier at bedtime and naps. BUT - I don't think there is anything wrong with it. His pediatrician is okay with it. His speech is not affected. He has a little cup next to his bed where the paci goes when he wakes up.

She's not even 2 yet so I wouldnt be too concerned yet. Most of my kids didnt give up until about 2 and a half. And then we gave it to the fairy dummy and the fairy dummy left a special present for them. I wouldnt try to get her to fall asleep in your arms because then she will get used to this and that would make it even harder. If you start noticing her falling asleep with the dummy and then not actually having it in her mouth, that is probably a good sign that she is not depending on it as much. Good luck :)

I would say try to get her to fall alseep in your arms so she feels your comfort and security instead of the dummy and then put her into bed. Do this a couple of time and you should be able to get rid of the dummy.
