My 15 month old resists naps. I always try for a nap near the same time. Since everyday is different I try to read her clues. If she is running and playing and interested, then I wait until she gets clumsy, plays in one place, or will sit for a book. Then I do a mini bed time routine (we do a diaper, lotion, pjs, book, milk, and rocking only leaving out the dance and bath that we do at night) and I lay her down. She only actually falls asleep for like one in three tries. It is hard to deal with. Even if she does not fall asleep I try to keep her in there for 15-30 minuets. She comes out rested two out of three times we try to nap.

Thats tough, it's really awful listening to them cry. My son has never been a good sleeper and some days is not wanting to nap, I still put him in his bed for some time out though, even if he does spend 30 minutes yelling MAMA! My mum said that she used to put me in my cot with some quiet time toys as I got older so we could both have some time out. Good luck, I would persist, may be try putting her down earlier or later, she may be over tired or not tired enough? They are tricky to work out little people!

exactly how old is she? one and how many months? how much sleep does she get over night? all kids are different with the amount of sleep they need, but persist with it, it could just be a phase and she will go back to it
