Things that have worked for my kids (i have 4) has been getting down at eye level and talking to them. Show that when they talk you are listening. Praising him when he does listen. If they don't appear to be listening take his hand and talk to him. Thats just a few things. Theres lots of listening games you can play as well like Simon Says. My 20 month old likes that game alot.

LOL my sons the same way!! Everthing is no or mine! But he does listen when he wants too. Just tell him if you dont listen to mommy then I'll tell your daddy and then you'll be in big trouble. LOL it works with my son. And then he listens.

as much as it sucks, he's 2. that's what they do! he's asserting his independence, and by telling you no...he feels he has some power. it's the nature of the beast. keep trying, and he will understand soon. my son started that around 18 months. he's 2 1/2 now and sometimes tries to pull that still, but he knows i mean business when i get "that tone" or "that look." good luck, and hang in there! it will get better!
