my son has trouble saying words,and paying attention, how can i help him more????

he broke his front tooth at 2 and since then he has problems saying words and gets upset and he can stay interested long enough for me to try and teach him the things he needs to know. so what can i do? how can i help him better????

Teaching him sounds like a little too much pressure to me. Don't be anxious yourself. Play alongside him and give a running commentary of his play ie' the man's going up the ladder' 'there's a fire' etc don't ask him questions or instruct him to speak but you do the talking and see if over time he develops the confidence to contribute and join in. speech is affected by pressure!

trishta i went to a gp and asked for a referal to a pediatritian who then observed his behaviour n sent me through to a pycoligist at the local hospital they doing little tests now like talking to him seeing how much attention he actually pays n for how long giving him listening tests ect ect maybe u could go to ur gp and ask for a referal it may just help... good luck with it all i know it can get frustraiting just hang in there let me know how u get on !!!

how old is ur son????? my 4 n half year lod daughter is currently going to a speach therepist as she cannot speak properly she also gets upset n frustraited when we dont understand her , mabe look into speach therpy my son has a attention problem n we are currently getting him tested for add and autisim maybe hese tests might help u n your son good luck with it all m sure hell b able to say words properly soon give him time
