is it a dry or wet cough??? Dry cough use humidifier or vaparizer, wet can also so they don't dry out at night, but also try to have them sleep with head/upper elevated, like is still in a crib you can put a pillow under one end, so if they are coughing junk up they don't gag and vomit. I have head and tried this it has worked for me I put vicks on my kiddos feet when they are coughing at night before i resort to cough med. just a though maybe worth a try

Nicks vapor rub makes a product for babies.  I have found that works with a coll mist humidifier ast night.  Also try steaming up the bathroom and sitting there with your child.  Reduce the amout of milk he drinks so the mucus will be reduced also.

A vaporizer is always helpful because it clears up the airways. You can warm up vicks in a disposible container & then put it into the vaporizer that already contains the hot water and then throw out the other container. Depending on your personal situation of having or not having to leave out the house then at least leave the vaporizer on all nite. Try to buy a vaporizer, if u don't already have one, that will autoshut off.

Hope that helped out a little
