My son is 19 months old and almost to the age of potty training? Does anyone have any advice?

I started with my son a month after he turned 2. First is you will need lots of patients. Well I bought him a potty that we could keep in the living room and I would let him sit on it just to. Then finally I decided to give it my all I started on a monday and put underwear on him all day and did that the whole week(no diapers except at night). Expect lots of accidents but by wednesday he started getting the hang of it. Now poopies are a whole other battle. I threw away about 7 pairs of underwear. Good luck!

don't get too worked up about a schedule. I made my in-laws upset by saying that as long as my son didn't have to take a change of pull ups for the prom I was okay with him taking his time. I wasn't really that laid back but I don't believe stressing out speeds anything up.

Take his que. When he is ready he will let you know. Other than that take him every time you go to the potty. It takes a little longer, but soon enough he will try too. My daugher I had potty trained by 12mo. but I'm still working on my nephew. He is 22mo. and has no intrest. But I'm still trying.

Well Leslie,

My little boy is now 4 and I can tell you it wasnt easy teaching him. I would suggest that you start with one thing. Making him go poop in the potty, then pee-pee in the potty. I would have to say that I asked often if he had to use the potty. So I suggest one at a time. It wont be easy. Good luck.
