My son of 2 years old is afraid to pee and poo in the potty and even in the toilet. He knows very well what to do, but simply doesn't want. He sits 4 or 5 hours in the potty without doing anything, when he finally stands up he pees on himself while crying because he cannot hold it more!! He is not really relaxed and happy until i put his diaper back at night, Pls tell me what to do!!

I'm in the same situation, my daughter flat out refuses to use the potty even though she has in the past. There is seriously nothing you can really do if they are that determined not to do it. It's their bodies and it's the only thing they can control so you are currently in a power struggle with him that you probably will not win. My urologist told me to drop it all together for a few weeks and try again with a new tactic. I can empathize with the preschool thing, I'm looking at a plan B, a daycare that takes an almost 3 year old that's not potty trained......maybe they can help!

The only other way to encourage it to happen soon is for him to see other boys and even men pee.

It didn't work :( He is saying a categoric NO when i ask him if he wants to pee, even if he wants to. He is starting preschool in september, what to do??

Teach him to pee standing up first, he should like doing that, and that will help make the potty seem a good thing instead of scary.
