My son is 16mths old When he's in the bath he's fine up untill water go's on his shoulders he starts to panic and trys to clime out of the bath it's so hard to wash his hair. He's never liked it when water went near his face as a baby as well. Anyone got any tips please i just dont know what to do with him i've tried so much with him but nothing is working. He gets in the bath with his brothers and there both fine when they get there hair washed so he can see it does not bother them.

maybe start taking him swimming...if he can get use to water being around his shoulders and on his head while he is having fun, then it might help with bathtime. could be worth a shot. have you tried using the shower head? he might like the novelty of that. good luck!

maybe u could start using a small plastic cup or something that can hold water and show him that it's okay to get rinsed, start from the toes and work slowly up, you should also let him try to get himself wet w/ the cup or whatever ur may help him to enjoy it. if that's doesn't work to well maybe a sponge and have him to the same w/ the sponge or a watering pail (whatever it's called, that u'd use to water a garden) he may like that little sprinkle of water

I had this problem with my daughter. I don't remember when it started, but she cried almost every time I washed her hair and water dripped down her face. I would try wash and rinse when she was distracted with toys. When she was small enough, I would hold her at the sink, facing up, to be able to rinse. (she quickly got too big for that and eventually freaked out about it). Now she is starting to be a little more tolerable. I just decreased the times I washed her hair. She is more tolerable now because she is older (turned 2 in April) and because we started using "big girl" shampoo, a no tears foam, easy rinse, dispensing one and I have her help me.
