my son is now 2 1/2 years old and knows hen he wants to go for a wee or poo but refuses to use it or even to sit on it. i have tried everything including giving him sweets, choc or biscuits as a treat/reward to get him to sit on it he refuses he wont have them. leaving him without a nappy on he will hold it in till it really hurts him causing him to bend over double in pain. he says he is scared of the potty, toilet even the potty training pants i bought the huggies ones thinking that they have pictures of cars on he might not want to wee in them but he wont wear them. he will only wear his nappies. help.............

I had the same problem with my eldest son. In the end we bought him a training seat (that fits on the top of the toilet) and a step for him to climb up onto. I think he felt safer, and therefore wan't bothered about using the toilet.

Sometimes it helps to find an anatomically correct doll and have him "teach" the doll how to use the potty, I've read that anyways but haven't tried it. My son is 2 1/2 also and uses the tiolet sometimes but he is not scared of it, just stobborn about the change.

try putting fruit loops in the toilet and having him aim at a different color each day
