My three year old son has been grinding his teeth at night time. I was wondering if I should be concerned with this?

My oldest daughter was terrible for doing this, always when she was asleep. She grew out of it after about 6 months. I asked the dentist about any damage that may have been caused, but he said it was very common, and the noise always sounded worse than anything else. I was also advised that gum shields were available to prevent this happening. Although I did not want to have my daughter sleeping with something in her mouth at such a young age.

Good luck with it, and hope the grinding stops soon.

Thanks Laura, I was thinking of making a dentist app, now I don't think I will worry.

Hi, my 2 year old does it too, I asked the doctor who sent me to the dentist. My dentist said its normal and that she sees it a lot, they can't do anything about it though because the only treatement is a bite plate, which toddlers can't use. So I wouldn't worry about it to much.
