My toddler is sick constantly....HELP

She gets a cold, has it for approx two weeks, gets over it, she is cold free for a day or two then she gets another one. My GP tells me it's a normal part of developing her immune system and that it should stop in the warmer months. Guess didn't!

She has been having colds for 14months now and i am at my wits end. It makes her irritable, not want to eat and have interrupted sleep regularly. HELP PLEASE!

I had the same problem with my 2 youngest children when we moved from CA to AL. For the 1st yr we were here they stayed with a cold NO BREAKS. It was their immune system getting acclimated to the change in enviornment. Since then my son hasn't had that many colds but my youngest stays with one no matter what. Come to find out it was allergies. Take your child to an allergist or talk to your pediatrician about getting your child tested for allergies.

Thanks guys, you have given me lots to think about. We have'nt changed our environment or anything since she was born, so can't be that. So hard to know with teething and normal colds and maybe an allergy of in need of vitamins or immune boost.
Thanks for your posts.....its great to be able to ask people outside your area as no-one i know is having the same trouble!

If you have not already I would put her on multivitamins to boost her immune system. Make sure there is plenty of vitamin c in her diet and this needs to be activated with vitamin D to actually have any effect. Make sure you air her room regularly to kill any lingering germs that may be reinfecting her. Children do theough phases of having a constant cold thi is normally when they have just joined a new nursery or in contact with a lot of people. But after this time I would of expected it to of sorted it'self out by now. Try the multivitamins for a month if they have no affect then take her to the GP to see if he can suggest something stronger.

if it seems like a cold and its always around chances are that its allergies. to most people who dont know any better they think its a cold since the symptoms are the same.. if her nose is runny and whats coming out of it is clear then its allergies.
