At first I was able to explain to him that there is a time and place for spitting, and limited it to when he's in the tub, or brushing his teeth at the sink, but lately...every couple days or so, he'll spit on the carpet, or on the floor, or at me or his dad. How did you handle spitting? It could be worse, but I'd like to curb this sooner rather than later.

My 2 yr old daughter used to do that, but i just flicked her mouth and told her that it was yucky and you dont spit unless you are brushing your teeth. She stopped pretty fast.

dont make a big deal about it. dont give him any attention just ignore it. it will stop when he realises that no one iss noticing. kids want any attention even if its being good or naughty

I haven't had to deal with the spitting issue...yet. But one thing that I do may be transferable to help with spitting. Every time he does it you can try saying something like...We don't spit on the floor/at people. And then carry him to the bathroom and tell him if you want to spit you need to do it in the sink/toilet. I've done thing similar to this and it can take doing it over and over again, but it has worked. Good luck !
