My son does too. I just tell him I can't understand what he's saying until he stops and repeats it without a whine...I don't know what else to do! It's sure annoying!!!

Same issue here. It has escalated since I brought home the new baby two weeks ago so it may be a little different from your situation but telling her to use her words does help a little. If I find anything else that works I'll surely let you know. Good luck!

l whine back at mine and he stops. They don't like to hear it anymore than we do.

I ignore my son when he whines and tell him that I will listen to him when he can use a big boy voice. He hates being ignored! I give him immediate attention as soon as he changes his tone. Then I praise him for using a big boy voice.

Same problem here! And I am doing the same as the other two Mom's it helps....but it's a work in progress. Having a lil drama queen in the house is fun eh? lol My daughter only wines for me which is a major gift. She doesn't dare wine for her Grandma or her Dad. I know this is just her way of trying to get my attention, so I try to praise her when she behaves & that also helps.

I am having the same problem. I have been trying the "use your words". and i will not give her what she wants till she stops whining, So far it is helping. She still whines but it is getting a little better

When my little girl would whine I would let her know that there was NO WAY that was going to help her, then go on about my business.
