Megan is 19 months old. She goes down for her nap and 30 minutes later she wakes up screaming. She'll cry for five minutes and then goes back to sleep for another hour or so. She's been doing this for about two weeks now. I have no idea what is causing her to wake up. Any suggestions?

She might be teething. She has almost all her teeth right now. I should check in the morning. She has been bottle and pacifier free for months now. She does sleep through the night just fine with no interruptions. Thanks for the suggestion.

My daughter did this for the first year quite often, almost nightly. It really got bad when she was teething. By 13 months she had 16 teeth and the waking up/crying stopped and she is a great sleeper now. Could she be teething or has anything else changed(weaned from bottle, change from 2 naps to 1 etc)?

I don't go in her room or even acknowledge that she is crying. Most of the time I'm sleeping too.

Um, sounds like she may be testing you.

This is common with most kids, my son does the same thing your little one does too.

He is only 14 months old.
