Why is it that when your child hits 18 months a nappy is seen as a weapon of the devil and to change them takes an army.

I have that problem all ready and my son is only 10 months old. Glad to see that it's not just us.

When it's bed time and he's standing on his stool brushing his teeth, I change his diaper that way...

I just remembered one time that I was so exhausted from dealing with the changing fiasco that I changed her diaper as she was running away from me. All this to avoid the drama!! So glad it is over now!

good to know I'm not the only mother out there with a child that absolutelly hates being changed... It started pretty much since he's been old enough to realize what's going on. He's now 20 mos old and it's so hard to change him, he cries like in the worst pain. A lot of times his older brother, who's 5, will play the clown, or the pinky or a snack... but it's a nightmare to change him, specially when it's # 2, to where it's almost easier to just put him in the bathtub and clean him of that way, since he love the tub... Very interested to hear other moms with solutions for this issue... if there is one ;)

Wow - I totally had the same problem when my little pumpkin was that age! I have no idea where it comes from but I pulled out all the stops. I gave her her favorite toys to play with, chocolate bribes, blankees, dodo's(pacifiers), etc.. Yelling or even being stern completely escelates (sp?) the problem. Acting like a total dork helped too. It must have something to do with control. What ever it is, it is hard to deal with - but I can tell you that it didn't last very long with my princess.. (though every now and then she gets irritated when I change her).
