Never!!! :) My daughter is the same if she doesn't get a nap, by later afternoon she is wired and then she starts misbehaving. I would continue naps as long as he is willing to take them. Little ones need the sleep!

When he is ready to. Some children nap up until they start going to school then slowly get out of the routine of needing a nap. Hey if he is in a better mood when he naps, I say let him sleep who wants to deal with a grumpy child. :)

it all depends on the child my daughter still takes naps and then goes to bed at half 7 in the evening and sleeps all night. i think if he is still sleeping well at night there is no problem with naps in the day every child is different and it also depends on how active they are during the day. if it means that u have a happier boy, with him taking a nap then go for it, saves the grumpy tantrums at dinner time!

Let him nap as long as he wants. My daughter stopped when she was in Pre K, she was 5. My son stopped shortly after turning 4. My youngest would still take two naps if I let him. Some kids naturally need more sleep. If he starts having trouble going to sleep at night, consider eliminating the nap. Being a mother of three enjoy the nap time. It ends too soon.

My eldest daughter is 3 & i have already had to stop naps. She does get grumpy & such in the evening close to bed time, but when I would nap her then she would stay up until 10, 11, or sometimes almost midnight. Cutting out naps have put her ready to go to sleep @ 9. But if I know that it is a day w/ a lot of activity then I'll nap her if there is the opportunity. Or sometimes on an extra active day she may nap on her own on our couch, where I just leave her be.

children need naps up untill they are about 5 to six years old. Sleep is the best thing for your child if you could imagine running rampid like a child all day long and not taking time to rest you would be exausted and grumpy as well.

My son took naps until he started school. My step-son is 4 and takes naps every day still. I think every child is different though and it can depend on your son and how he handles missing a nap.

when he is ready! usualy around kindergarden is when schools stop making them rest but until then even if he doesnt nap than he should lay down and have some rest time to be by himself and be calm from a busy day
