My daughter is almost 19months and we are working on potty training too. We have her potty in our family room where we spend a lot of time instead of the bathroom. She was never interested in it while it was there and it goes to the whole -out of sight out of mind-. Anyway, I'm lucky and she tells me half the time when she needs to go but I always sit next to her on the floor and sign songs with her while she sits. The songs seem to distract her enough to keep her sitting instead of getting up and playing all the time. If she tells me she needs to potty, I only let her out of her diaper for 10-15 minutes max otherwise a little longer if I want her to try. It's still early. Just keep working at it and wish you luck.
