I would say nightmares or just loneliness. I would snuggle with her for a minute and tell her you will give her a hug and a kiss and then take her back to bed. I wouldn't immediately march her back to bed without giving her some snuggles first.

Put her back in her bed, but sit with her for a minute. I know you're tired, but if you don't she'll keep coming back. Try to stay until she's almost asleep and then leave again. Keep doing it if you have to. Do that for a few nights and just keep redirecting her back to her room. There is a valid reason she's doing this and you need to figure out why.

My 2.5year old just started this and it is hard because he screams when we put him in his bed and we have a 10m old baby who needs sleep too. I am at a loss here too. Glad you posted maybe I can get some advice too.

I agree shelly, keep putting them back to their bed. Give in once and you'll be back to square 1!!

She might be having nightmares. Or she might just be going through a needy phase. My daughter and son used to do this, too. I just kept putting them back in their bed and telling them that they were a "big girl" or "big boy" and needed to sleep in their own "big kid" bed. Sometimes I would have to sit in the room with them until they fell asleep. It eventually passed. I hope this helps! Good luck!!
