I am potty training my 2 1/2 year old and he has been doing really well....we've been putting him in Pull Ups and he never has wet accidents, even over night, but as soon as I put "big boy" underwear on him he has an accident. What can I do to get the same good results with real underwear and get him fully potty trained? Any advice is welcome!!!

The reason for this is the texture of real pants rather than pull ups. Real pants tickle and are a strange sensation and pull ups hold him tight and in place. Try using a boys trunk pants rather than normal pants as these will hold him securely. Pull ups should not be used at all when training him during the day only at nap times or over night. He has to get used to the sensation of cloth next to his skin. When the warmer weather comes give him pull up and pants free time to get used to his anatomy.

I started by taking my daughter literally evrey hour as far as possible as soon as she started wearing her panties and after a while things just came right. They do this at most preschools as well. I have however heard thta boys are a bit harder to train as girls.

Have you taken him shopping for big boy underpants? Maybe letting him choose some might make him more inclined to wear them.
