My son is only 16 months (and my only kid) and I am thinking of trying to potty train him around 18 months. When did you start to potty train and what are some good tips on how to potty train a boy?

hi,as a mom of a little boy i started potty training him at 2, plenty of patience, loads and loads of praise is required and i also used rewards like one jelly for a wee and a lollypop for no 2,it worked for me.we are now 3 1/2 and using the toilet.best of luck

at first i had him sitting for wee and when hes confidence grew and when he watched daddy, then he wanted to be "like daddy" and stood up to wee,and once i showed him how to point down and aim [ i placed a piece of toilet paper on bottom and told him to wet it] he had great fun wetting it,thankfully he always had a good aim!!! the no 2s took a bit longer, but with patience and the reward system we got there in the end.
