No more bottles, no more milk...

[deleted account] ( 3 moms have responded )

At the 18 month mark, I weaned my son off of bottles, which was surprisingly easier than I thought it would be. The problem I now face is that he refuses to drink milk from a sippy cup. I have attempted several different ways to serve it: in a big boy glass, with a straw, mixed with vanilla flavored luck yet. Any suggestions? He has gone without any milk for almost a month now. He eats like a champ and still has lots of dairy--cheese and yogurt are his favs. Should I be worried?

My SIL had the same problem with her second child. Her doctor suggested that she try Ovaltine and it worked. My niece is now 3 and still will not drink regular milk but loves her "chocolate" milk.

I had to tell my kids they had to finish their milk before they got any juice. Their intake went down but after awhile they increased their milk. Give just a couple of ounces to get him started. He will see that it is not very much.

i wouldn't worry too much, as long as he's getting enough of the nutrients he needs from dairy products.
