No sleep; uncontrolable crying!

What could this be (besides the usual culprit). We put him down at 7:15; he woke at 8:30. I put him back down and he woke up at 9:45. Got him to go back down and he woke up at 10:30. Brought him into bed with us and he wouldn't go to sleep; kept tossing and turning. At about midninght I went to put him in his crib and was successful, but he woke about 5 mins. later and that's when he started crying and it didn't stop until 3AM! Nose was running and he had a cough so we gave him motrin. He's been teething so I don't doubt that's what's wrong, but is it the only thing? He's been tugging on his right wear lately, should I call the ped. today? I really hope this isn't a pattern and it doesn't happen again tonight.

Someone please help; I don't know what to do!

When in doubt take them to the doctor...and remember everything is just a phase!!

An ear infection is very possible. It would be something to get checked out right away. You never want to leave an ear infection untreated. Also, for stuffy or runny noses I use the Vicks strips that you put into the Vicks contraption and turn it on (sorry I can't think of the name) They are amazing and they even work for me!!
Hope that helps and that you are able to get some more sleep!!!

Check for an ear infection.. Try not to let the child nap too long durring the day. I have a 3 yr old and shes not allowed to nap after 1 and she has to be up before 3 becausee bed time is at 7 or 8 and she goes to bed when her brother who is almost 6 goes. Ear infections go hand in had with teething. Sometimes you just have to let them cry... however when my littlest one does cry excessively we make a warm bottle for her and shes out like a light.. try anything and when it works include it in your nightly routine

well first off you need to gently pull on his right ear if he wails then its most likely an ear infection and he needs to go to the dr. If he doesnt wail just keep an eye on it but it's most likely his teeth. There are homeopathic teething tablets. I loved them when my daughter was teething . you just give them two or three tablets and they numb them and help the child get to sleep. they are all natural made from different plants and such. if that doesnt work try elevating his head and chest while sleeping. somehow this takes the pressure off the ears and head from teething and helps them sleep. good luck
