I am in a similar position where my friends do not have children yet. My daughter and I try to go to the library once a week, and there are usually kids in the children's area where she can make friends. There are also mom's to make friends with too!

playgrounds - libraries with story time - local hospitals with groups for mothers, new mothers even - maybe schools, prekindergarten classes -

I moved to a new city recently so I just started walking up to other women/families with kids the same age as mine and introducing myself! It's a bit weird and you won't necessarily 'click' with all of them but it's worth a shot. And you will definitely have at least one thing in common with the other mothers! Best places to find other mums are at the supermarket, particularly in the baby aisle, in parks and playgrounds and in the kids section of the library.

I hope this helps!

There are a number of ways you could meet other kids. One organise regular play dates with the kids you do know. 2) Ring up community centres or child youth health centre for nearby resources. 3)Consider a day in childcare 4)Playgroup or in our case we have just started our little one at Kindergym. He is 16 months old and so far an only child.
