My Step kids hate me and think that i am changing their father. I dont want him to change, i just show him how his oldest are useing him and his memory lost due to his injury from Iraq.

Being a step-parent is a hard job! I had a step-father intervene in my life when I was 9 years old. He immediately took on the father figure role, and I was having NONE of it. We did not in any way shape or form click. I was soo pissed off how he can just walk in the front door and start telling me what to do and how to do it, and my mother would allow it. After many years of living with him and very much disliking him. I moved out with my fiancee got pregnant. After that happened my eyes really opened up, and I truly felt horrible about the way I treated him for the many years I lived there. Although he was no saint and did many things wrong I realized that he was the true father figure that was ever in my life, and I really appreciate him and what he has done for my mother & sisters. I guess that came with maturity.

You can't be the one to discipline the step-kids period! Their father has to. You can have rules, and get the respect that you deserve, but you can't butt in with their relationship between them and their father because they will simply resent you for it. You also need to give them the respect they deserve, Like I said being a step-parent is NOT easy in any way, especially with teenagers!
