Picky Eater

My son has been such a picky eater lately! He just turned 20 months and the last couple of weeks have been the worst. All he wants to eat is fruit, applesauce, pudding, and toast. It's usually all snacky type foods. I don't want him to think that it's ok to just snack, but I don't want him to starve either. Any advice??

I think all children go through a stage of only wanting to eat certain foods. My son is 4 1/2 and he is still going through that stage. Make sure your son gets vitamins every day and don't worry. He will grow out of it! My other son is 2 and he eats everything in sight. Fruit is a good thing to eat, sounds like he is wanting the kinds of foods that are sweet. Maybe you can try not having those foods, and then show him he will have to eat something else.

Hi, mine went through that stage. just keep pushing him to eat what was made for that meal. If he doesn't eat then excuse him down and just tell him this is what is for breakfast, lunch, dinner ect... I still gave him the scheduled snacks at snack time but no extras. It took about a month but he realized that he wasnt winning so he is back on schedule.. I talked to my dr. about it and he said, what i was doing is great and that they will eat when they are hungry and wont starve themselves.

Hope I was helpful.. good luck.
