Poop In The Tub

My baby pooped in the tub yesterday and I heard that's a sign that she's ready for potty training. Is it true? She just turned one two weeks ago, isn't it kinda early?

My son does that too and I hate it!! He has been working on using the toilet when he has to poop and he still does it in the tub so I think it is just because they are in that warm water and when they feel like they have to go they just go because they don't know any better.

Ah the joys of poop in the tub. I have twins that are 2 and 1/2 and occasionally we still have poop in the tub. My doctor said the bath relaxes them and there is nothing you can do about it except really quick baths.

My daughter did this and that is when I bought her a potty. It's not a telltale sign they are ready for actual potty training though. She was around 1 year and a few months I think? I could usually tell right before she was about to go and wanted the potty there so I could scoop her up and sit her on it before it was too late. This was just to avoid having to deal with poop in the tub, as she did this more than once. Getting her used to her potty early on was good, and she is 2 now and we are in the very early beginning stages of real potty training.

My son has done that! I think it's probably something that every child does at least once. He was only a little over a year when it happened and I think it was a sign of bad timing. They don't have control over their bowels and the warm water relaxes their body. That's why they usually always pee in the tub (which you may never notice unless you have a little boy that likes to stand in the tub).

My son has done that too, much to my dismay! I don't think it's a sign that you should start potty training. I think it shows that they still don't have control over their bowels, and will go when ever and where ever! It's just a regular kid thing to do.

My son did that too a few months ago he's turning two next week but i haven't potty trained him yet..he's been on the potty but only for a few seconds!! I never thought of it as a sign but I should start potty training now.

I haven't heard that but I can't hurt to get a potty for her to become accustomed to. I bought one for my daughter just after she turned one. She used it off and on but is really picking it up now (she just turned two). I would get the potty to have around her just so she can see it, and maybe she'll want to try to use it when you go to the bathroom. Goodluck!
