My 2 and a half yr old son Alex has almost completly stopped going potty. Not long after his 2nd. birthday he started going potty. He was doing so good. He was wearing big boy underwear, hardly ever an accident. Nothing major has changed in our lives, so I can't figure out why he's stopped. I'm hoping other moms have been through this and could share any advice. Thanks

This happened to my best friends little boy.. apparantly, he must have had a constipated bowel movement which gave him a bad association to the potty.. her pediatrician told her to get "magic" lotion.. vaseline.. tput on his butt a few times a day telling him it is magic lotion that prevents him from feeling hurt and he believed her and they haven't had a problem since...

yes my kids were really easy to train as well, its just im having trouble at night. i do cut down on the drinks at night. ive tried waking them up at night a few times. sometimes they would be dry in the morning and sometimes not. I guess my only option is to keep waking up until they get the hang of it.

I have to say I have been pretty lucky, when we finally got ALex at 3-1/2 p.t. it was by "accident" the method we used. He would mess in pull ups and underwear...but leave him naked, waist down, and he would hold until he reached the toilet. Nighttime he has only went like 3 times in 6 months. Have you tried restricting drinks to no later than 2 hours before bed?

I really hope so. I guess I was more concerned with the fact that maybe there was something wrong and I was'nt cluing into a potentially bigger problem. I really hope he comes back around. Thanks.

my son started PT at 18 months and went back and forth until he was 3! Boys take so long, although I think any wavering on their part is normal and totally an independance thing. I would stick to it and keep doing whatever routine you are doing. He'll come back around!
