Hi! I wish I had the answer! My daughter is 3 as well. Goes potty no problem but has a complete meltdown when she has to poop. She'll hold it for days. We eventually end up putting her in a diaper! I know I'm doing something wrong but I don't know what it is. We've tried bribes, talking with her--we're at a loss...

We put our daughter's little potty in our den and let our daughter watch her favorite TV show while she uses the potty. It distracted her enough that she was finally able to sit still long enough poop in the potty. (I took her temp rectally first, to "encourage" pooping). Then we made a HUGE deal out of it. Since then, she has gone on her own to find the potty to poop in, and we continue to fuss over her when she does it.

Since your daughter likes to hide, maybe you can put her potty somewhere she can have privacy to poop. I've heard that's pretty common, for kids to hide when they poop.
